Three free agents who belong on the Dodgers wish list this Christmas

The Los Angeles Dodgers have already been busy this winter and they are hoping to get a few more players to come to Hollywood this offseason.

In the weeks before Christmas, children all over the world are filling out their wish lists to give to their parents. The Los Angeles Dodgers have their own wish list too of free agents they hope to sign.

1. Justin Turner

Justin Turner is not one of the best third basemen in the league anymore, but he is still a Dodger legend and is in that second or third tier of third basemen in baseball.

Despite it being a shortened season, Turner hit. 307 and drove in 23 runs in the regular season before the Dodgers won their first title since 1988.

A big reason why the Dodgers need Turner back is because of the lack of third base talent available on the market. Turner isn’t going to be too expensive and beyond him, the only great third baseman available would be in a trade.

Nolan Arenado and Kris Bryant could get dealt but their contracts aren’t very appealing, especially for the Dodgers who just paid Mookie Betts $365 million and will have to pay Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger in the near future.

2. Liam Hendriks

The Dodgers continued to have uncertainty with the back of their bullpen all the way through the World Series, but if Dave Roberts wants to have a clear ninth-inning guy, Hendriks is the man to pay.

Hendriks won the AL Reliever of the Year in 2020, pitching to a 1.78 ERA with 14 saves.

Blake Treinen could be a fit to go back to the Dodgers after a great bounceback season but he will ask for a raise so why not just go out and get the best reliever available.

3. Enrique Hernandez

Kike Hernandez is another fan favorite in Los Angeles and he might be as valuable as Turner is to the Dodgers’ success. Hernandez is the ultimate utility man. He can play just about any position on the field which allows Betts, Bellinger, AJ Pollock, and every infielder some extra days off in the dog days of summer.

Hernandez is projected to hit 17 home runs and drive in about 60 runs regardless of where he goes. That isn’t bad for a utility man.

The Dodgers need a utility man other than Chris Taylor if they want to repeat as the World Series champions.
