Going into the matchup, the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills were looking to crack losing streaks with the Bills only being two games and the Jets being six games. The Jets dominated the first quarter of the game but the Bills had other plans for the rest of the game beating the Jets 18-10.
How it Started
The Jets started off the game with a bang as Sam Darnold made some nice passes to Bershad Perriman for 19 yards and Denzel Mims for five yards.
La’Mical Perine and Frank Gore also had some great runs but the Jets couldnโt create a touchdown thus having to settle for a field goal making the score 3-0. The Jets were all over the Bills offense not allowing a score all the way up until the middle of the second quarter. Darnold made a beautiful pass to Braxton Berrios for 22 yards as the clock went down at the end of the first quarter.
Sam Darnold is extremely good. That throw to Braxton Berrios was a DIME. Beautiful on both ends. pic.twitter.com/8NyJrue0US

The Jets started off the second quarter with a Darnold pass to Mims for 10 yards but they ended up turning it over to the Bills. Josh Allen had some trouble passing so he ended up running right for 17 yards which then led to a nice pass to Gilliam for 15 yards. Allen was then sacked by Tarell Basham which also caused a fumble. The Jets then had a big run with a Perine who ran for 20 yards which eventually led to his first career touchdown later on that drive on a five-yard run making the score 10-0.
The Bills Come Alive
Devin Singletary then led a big drive for the Bills which ended up not resulting in a touchdown and the Bills had to settle for a field goal, the score being 10-3. Later on, in the third quarter, Allen started to get things going with Cole Beasley. Beasley had back to back six-yard receptions followed by a Singleterry seven-yard run and then there was a confusing play which almost was a 22-yard touchdown for Gabriel Davis but ended up being nullified.
Again the Bills had to settle for a field goal with the score being 12-10. The Bills defense showed up the next drive and sacked Darnold as time expired in the third. To start the fourth quarter Allen connected with Beasley for 9 yards and at the end of the drive, Tyler Bass missed a field goal. The Jets then quickly turned the ball over after a three and out. The Bills then let another drive which resulted in a Bassfield goal. Bringing the score to 15-10.
The End
The game went on and then eventually the Bills hit another field-goal right by the two-minute warning. After that, the Bills defense sacked Darnold for eight yards ending any thoughts of a comeback from the Jets. Then Micah Hyde had a huge hit on Perriman who was down on the field for some time before getting up and walking off the field under his own power. Darnold then threw an interception to Jerry Hughes, effectively ending the Jets’ hopes. The Bills defeated the Jets 18-10 shutting them down in the second half, only allowing 16 offensive plays in that half. Only one first down was allowed by the Bills in the second half.
