Some teams were expected to rise high once the season started, but they did the opposite instead. Now they are quickly losing some ground. Do they have time to catch up? Can they do something about it? Of course they can. Remember, fortunes can easily change in the world of sports.
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
So far, it looks like trading away Norman Powell was a bad move. Without him, the team looks lost and is starting to realize that there will be bumps and bruises along the way. There was no bigger bruise than when Powell faced the Clippers and had a big game against his former team.
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
You knew something was off when coach Steve Kerr suddenly complained about the early travel itinerary of the team. You have to admit that it was quite hectic. At least the team can look forward to the near future when their schedule becomes lighter and when Steph Curry gets back to playing regularly.
MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Is Giannis Antetokounmpo really leaving the team? Does he want to leave the team that loves him as much as he loves Milwaukee? If these stories are true, then the Bucks might continue their rough start. Maybe it is time for them to go backward in order to move forward.
DALLAS MAVERICKS
It is probably our fault. Maybe we thought that rookie Cooper Flagg was going to be a quick solution to cover the hole left behind by the “traded-away” Luka Doncic. Turns out it was a big, deep hole to fill up especially since the team keeps losing Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving to injuries.
WASHINGTON WIZARDS and NEW ORLEANS PELICANS
These teams have been bad for a few years now and this trend will likely continue for at least one more year. The Wizards already have a 14-game losing streak under their belt this season while the Pelicans only won three of their first 25 games. Not exactly the start that anyone would want.
