With just one day until the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, speculation about potential trades is heating up. Several teams are rumored to be considering moving up in the first round to secure a top prospect.
Let’s identify five NFL teams that could make a major splash on draft day.
Make sure to check out all of our NFL Draft scouting reports to stay up to date this year’s top prospects.
Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings’ desire to move up in the draft may be the worst-kept secret. With the 11th and 23rd overall picks, they have the draft capital to make a move without losing much in terms of future assets. By trading up, the Vikings can target one of the top quarterbacks in the draft.

Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos are a team with many needs, but none is more glaring than quarterback. Given their spot in the draft, they may be right outside the range for a top quarterback. Moving up would cost Denver a pretty penny, but the new Broncos ownership has shown its willingness to be aggressive and get the guys they want.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are an interesting team to monitor this Thursday given their need at quarterback. Unlike the two teams mentioned above, Vegas’ hole at quarterback isn’t as glaring. Nevertheless, the Raiders have shown legitimate interest in the top quarterback prospects. If the right quarterback falls, they could be in a prime position to move up and secure their signal-caller of the future.
Reporter: What would it be like if the Raiders found a way to draft you?
Jayden Daniels: "It'd be good. I mean, anywhere I go would be be a blessing. But AP [Antonio Pierce], I've been knowing since I was a teenager, so obviously just our relationship off the field, that would…

Buffalo Bills
Shifting towards the back end of the first round, the Bills immediately come to mind as a team that could trade up. With the No. 28 overall pick, Buffalo could move up to target one of the top wide receivers to help fill the void left by the departure of Stefon Diggs.
General manager Brandon Beane has shown his willingness to trade up and address a position of need in the past. Now, with one of the best quarterbacks in the game, Beane and the Bills might be aggressive in acquiring a player who could make an immediate impact in Year 1.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are another NFL team to monitor on draft day as Omar Khan has shown that he is not afraid to be aggressive and make some moves to get the guy he wants. Look no further than last year when he traded up to get offensive tackle Broderick Jones.
Sportskeeda’s Troy Pauline has reported that the Steelers are discussing a potential trade with the Broncos to move up to pick No. 12. While that could just be a smokescreen leading up to the NFL Draft, as the old saying goes, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Don’t be surprised if the Steelers ultimately do make a trade to select one of the top offensive linemen in this draft class.
If i'm Steelers, I'd take huge swing at this draft if it is trading up, trading players or trading for WR. Who cares about next year. You have said you want to win now. Now show it. You have a win-now QB, a vet defense. Do whatever it takes to put yourself in position to win now

The 2024 NFL Draft is shaping up to be one of the least predictable drafts in recent memory. Many teams will make moves in the first round. Keep an eye on these five NFL squads as they could be the ones to watch on draft day.
Whether it’s trading up or trading back, expect plenty of movement in what should be an entertaining draft.
