NBA Week 13: Games to Watch

NBA Week 13: Games to Watch

by January 9, 2023 0 comments

Is this a bad, scary omen? The 13th week (Jan. 9 to 15) of the NBA happens to have a “Friday the 13th” in it. Better get your lucky charms out if you do not want anything bad to happen to your team. Time for fans to become superstitious in what could be a spooky week.

Here are the major fixtures in the upcoming days.

Jan. 10: Utah Jazz vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Jazz seem to be losing a lot lately, a disappointing feeling considering how they burst out of the gate early on. That is why they have to take advantage of a schedule that will see them play a lot of home games in the immediate future. Their first visiting guest of the week happens to be Donovan Mitchell. We all know by now that Mitchell, Utah’s former player, recently scored 71 points.

Jan. 10: Los Angeles Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks

Don’t let the scoreboard fool you. When the Clippers played the Mavericks two months ago, they only lost by two points. The story of the game was entirely different as the Clippers were down by as much as 25 points before a huge late rally made the score look respectable. Now, we get to see what type of adjustments the slumping Clippers have made.

Jan. 12: Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics

This is game No. 2 between the Nets and the Celtics. but we might as well call it No. 1. We can forget the first meeting because the Nets were completely different a month ago. For the Celtics, they will be facing a team with a new personality. The “new” Nets seem to be in the top echelon of NBA basketball right now after all of the early off-court drama.

Jan. 12 and 14: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat

Staying in Miami for three days usually means fun and good times. Not for the Bucks, though, as they will have to face the Heat twice on this business trip. Aside from focusing on Jimmy Butler, they will have to contain Bam Adebayo and lock down Tyler Herro. Adebayo and Herro have been playing well lately, especially in the last two weeks.

Jan. 15: Chicago Bulls vs. Golden State Warriors

There were videos of coach Steve Kerr talking to Alex Caruso around a month ago. What made that video intriguing was the conversation between the two after their game in San Francisco. It sounded like Kerr was either praising or recruiting Caruso. If that was really happening, you can bet that people will be spying on the sidelines again. Lip-readers on Twitter better tell us what’s happening if ever these two start whispering to each other.
