With the end of the regular season and the ongoing NFL playoffs, 18 franchises have already started looking at the offseason. And as always, the culminating moment of the months without games is marked by the Draft, where professional and college football collide in three days to nurture young talent for one of the most competitive leagues in the world.
With the college season over, the boards and rankings of NCAA players are beginning to take shape. Although still very fluid, it’s already beginning to define at least the days each player is possibly selected in the Draft.
If you, like us, have been researching the best players by position, what better place to start than QB, the most sought-after role and possibly the most difficult to find for franchises in the long run? Here are our top 10 quarterback picks for the NFL Draft to help your NFL betting odds play.
Top 10 QBs for NFL Draft 2023
This 2023 crop appears to lack the generational talents or consensus No. 1 players of previous years (Andrew Luck, Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence). Still, it does have very good first-round depth (well, unlike 2022, where only Kenny Pickett was selected in this instance).
Not only is the class deep, but there are also players with the most varied combinations of talents to choose from. It ultimately makes it even more fun because, depending on how each franchise values the attributes of the QBs, the boards can be different. Here are the top 10 quarterback prospects this season:
- Bryce Young, Alabama
- C.J. Stroud, Ohio State
- Will Levis, Kentucky
- Anthony Richardson, Florida
- Tanner McKee, Stanford
- Hendon Hooker, Tennessee
- Jaren Hall, BYU
- Cameron Ward, Washington State
- Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA
- Clayton Tune, Houston
NFL Draft 2023: Which Team Got the First Pick?
The 2022 NFL season is coming to an end, and several eliminated teams are already planning the 2023 campaign. The first thing they will have to work on is the Draft, which will take place between April 27 and 29 at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
Those teams that will not have the Playoffs have the consolation of, at least, having a high pick in the next Draft.
Which Team Has the First Pick Of the 2023 Draft?
In Week 18, the Chicago Bears lost to the Minnesota Vikings, so their record was 3-14, and they became the team that will have the first overall pick in the Draft.
It will be the third time in history that the Bears have the first pick in the Draft, as they chose first in the 1941 and 1947 seasons.
The second pick will go to the Houston Texans, a team that finished the season with a 3-13-1 mark and was always the worst franchise of the 2022 campaign. However, a win against the Indianapolis Colts kept them from having the first pick.
NFL Playoffs: When Are the Games Played?
The wild card round will be played between Saturday, January 14, two games; Sunday, January 15, three games; and Monday, January 16, one match.
Then, the divisional round will have matches on Saturday, January 21, and Sunday, January 22.
The two conference championship games will take place on Sunday, January 29, while Super Bowl LVII will be on Sunday, February 12.
