MLB DFS Sunday Smorgasbord

MLB DFS Sunday Smorgasbord

by June 26, 2022 0 comments

We have a nine-game DFS slate today starting at 1:35 pm EDT on DraftKings. On Friday we did something a little different. There were a couple of nice hits with Andres Gimenez (4,600) putting up 27 points and Nico Hoerner ($3,000) putting up 21. We also had three goose eggs with Jose Abreu, Orlando Arcia, and Ryan McMahon. Today, we are going with the same formula. I will give you one from each salary tier for each position. There will be a high-end tier, a mid-range, and a cheap option. For the players the tiers will work like this:

Pitchers:
High-End: $9,000+
Mid-Range: $7,600-$8,900
Cheap: $7,500-

Batters:
High-End: $4,600+
Mid-Range: $3,600-$4,500
Cheap: $3,500-

In the interest of transparency as well as wanting to see how this goes, I will post the results on Tuesday’s DFS article so stay tuned.

Be sure to check us out daily for our DFS content.

On the Mound

High-End: Dylan Cease vs. Baltimore Orioles ($9,600) – I like Shane McClanahan ($10,300) and Joe Ryan ($9,100) as well depending on what you want to spend. All three are great options and I would grab at least one of them today.
Mid-Range: Roansy Contreras @ Tampa Bay Rays ($8,000) – Contreras will elevate his game facing McClanahan and the Rays have averaged just three runs over their last 11.
Cheap: Aaron Civale vs. Boston Red Sox ($6,400) – If you really need to save some salary, Civale has pitched well his last two outings with a 10/2 K/BB rate and forcing 16 GBs.

On the Dirt

First Base

High-End: Anthony Rizzo ($5,900) – He is in a slump, but this afternoon he hits his 20th bomb of the year.
Mid-Range: Josh Bell ($4,100) – Bell has a 1.414 OPS and is averaging 12.3 DK points over his last nine games.
Cheap: Nathaniel Lowe ($3,100) – Big Nate has a couple of bombs in his last four games and has 10 on the season.

Second Base

High-End: Andres Gimenez ($4,600) – We are going back to the well again. Gimenez is working on a six-game hitting streak.
Mid-Range: Isaac Paredes ($3,700) – The Tampa Bay infielder may be the hottest hitter on the planet right now going 7-for-12 with five homers in his last three games.
Cheap: Tony Kemp ($3,200) – After a recent 0-for-13 slump, Kemp has four hits in his last nine PAs including two doubles and a homer.

Third Base

High-End: Nolan Arenado ($5,500) – Arenado cooled off a bit in May and early June. However, he has six multi-hit games in his last nine and a 1.177 OPS in that stretch.
Mid-Range: Matt Chapman ($3,600) – On May 26, Chapman had a .623 OPS. Since then, he has an .887 and has averaged nearly 10 DK points per game.
Cheap: Ryan McMahon ($3,000) – Although he put up a big fat zero on Sunday, I will go back to him one more time if I really want to save money here.

Shortstop

High-End: Tommy Edman ($5,200) – Edman is as solid as they come, and Matt Swarmer has been awful his last three starts.
Mid-Range: Isiah Kiner-Falefa ($3,600) – Honestly, there are no other shortstops in this tier.
Cheap: Oneil Cruz ($3,300) – He won’t be highly owned facing left-hander McClanahan, but this could be a great tournament play.

On the Grass

High-End: Juan Soto ($5,700) – He hasn’t been his usual self, but I love the matchup against Glenn Otto today.
Mid-Range: MJ Melendez ($4,200) – A solid play here, but a better play at catcher if you can afford a good option in the outfield spot.
Cheap: Jarren Duran ($3,500) – The youngster just puts up points. He is averaging 9.5 DK points in his 12-game career so far.

Good Luck with all of your DFS lineups.
