NFL DFS: AFC Championship Game

NFL DFS: AFC Championship Game

by January 29, 2022 0 comments

The NFL Championship Games are officially here and for the third season in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs will be in the AFC Championship Title game. This year they will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals who are in the AFC Championship game for the first time in 33 years. This should be a great game and both teams are loaded with offensive talent. Let’s take a look at the top players in this huge matchup.

DraftKings Captain | FanDuel MVP

Patrick Mahomes (DK 16,800 | FD 17,500)

Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL and he proves it week in and week out. He has thrown at least two touchdowns seven games in a row. Furthermore, in 10 career playoff games, he has 25 touchdowns. In the playoffs thus far he has scored 84.1 DraftKings points and 78.1 FanDuel points. Don’t overthink it. He is going to light up the scoreboard and be one of the top scorers.

Flex Plays

Tyler Boyd (DK 4,800 | FD 9,000)

The Chiefs will not let Ja’Marr Chase beat them as they did in the regular-season matchup. Expect them to deploy a similar game plan to last week when they went all out to shut down Stefon Diggs. The question this week will be which Bengals receiver will step up? Last week, it was Tee Higgins. This week, it will be Boyd. He has scored a touchdown in four of his last five games. One of those coming against the Chiefs. Furthermore, the Chiefs have allowed solid outings to slot receivers all season. Look for Boyd to be the guy this week for the Bengals and be a great value play.

Joe Burrow (DK 10,400 | FD 16,000)

With this game likely being a shootout both quarterbacks are going to put up a lot of points. The goal for this slate will be fitting both quarterbacks in your lineups. Burrow has been good during the playoffs but he hasn’t needed to be great. This week he will need to be great and put up a lot of points. The Chiefs defense has allowed 10 passing touchdowns the last four weeks. That includes Burrow’s four-touchdown game against them a few weeks ago. Look for Burrow to go toe to toe with Mahomes.

Jerick McKinnon (DK 5,000 | FD 10,000)

Clyde Edwards-Helaire returned from injury last week and saw 30 percent of the snaps compared to McKinnon’s 70 percent. Darrell Williams was also out last week but even if he plays, McKinnon and CEH will likely split most of the snaps. McKinnon’s upside comes with his receiving ability. In the last two games, he has 13 targets hauling in 11 of those for 135 yards and one touchdown. With an expected shootout in this game, McKinnon’s salary is too good to pass up.
