Thursday Night Football DFS: Week 5

Thursday Night Football DFS: Week 5

by October 7, 2021 0 comments

The last couple of Thursday Night Football matchups featured a couple of teams expected to finish at the bottom of the NFL. However, this week brings a huge divisional game between two playoff contenders in the NFC West as the Seattle Seahawks face off against the Los Angeles Rams. Let’s check out the top DFS players in this matchup.

DraftKings Captain & FanDuel MVP

Darrell Henderson Jr. (DK 12,600 | FD 13,000)

The Seahawks run defense has been very bad this season, allowing an average of 152 rushing yards per game. That is the most in the entire NFL. The Rams will use that to their advantage and run Henderson early and often. Don’t worry about him being banged up because he still had 14 carries and six targets in Sunday’s game. He is in line for a big night and should be among the top scorers in this game.

Flex Plays

Tyler Lockett (DK 9,600 | FD 12,000)

Lockett is excellent in his career on Thursday Night Football. In six career games, he has 414 yards and four touchdowns. He is also very familiar with the Rams. Jalen Ramsey won’t necessarily shadow in this new defensive look. Rather, most of the night, he will have the job of shutting down DK Metcalf. That will leave Lockett plenty of opportunities to get some deep balls.

Chris Carson (DK 6,600 | FD 11,000)

The Rams, similar to the Seahawks, have struggled against the run this season, allowing 123.5 yards per game. Carson averages 13.5 carries on the season. The Seahawks’ offense is much better when they establish the run early and when healthy Carson is still the guy in the backfield. However, keep an eye on Carson’s injury. He didn’t practice on Tuesday or Wednesday because of a neck injury. If he’s unable to go, slide Alex Collins in as a great flex play in this game.

Van Jefferson (DK 4,800 | FD 9,500)

If the Rams can get the run game going, that will open the door for play-action shots to Jefferson. An excellent play would be to stack Jefferson and Matthew Stafford with Henderson at the captain spot. They have already connected on several big plays this season. A big reason for that is all the focus on Rams star receivers Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. Look for Jefferson to slip past the defense on play-action calls for big chunk plays in this game.
