Tony Watson is a Giant

The San Francisco Giants bring back southpaw Tony Watson to bolster their bullpen. In return, the Los Angeles Angels get lefty Sam Selman, along with right-handers Ivan Armstrong and Jose Marte.

Watson pitched for the Giants from 2018-2020 posting a 3.20 ERA in 138 innings. He returns to the Bay Area as San Francisco is building up their team for an exciting run in the NL West over the next two months.

Selman heads to Los Angeles as a controllable piece who has seen limited time in the Majors. The 30-year-old can be a good left-handed reliever if used correctly in the Angels bullpen.

Armstrong is a big Dominican reliever who has looked great in A-Ball this season. He is only 21 years old and has a 1.88 ERA in 38 innings.

Marte is a fellow Dominican pitcher who shifted full-time to the bullpen this season. He is in Double-A now and between two stops in the minors, Marte has struck out 50 in just 29 innings.
