Memorial Day MLB DFS

Memorial Day MLB DFS

by May 31, 2021 0 comments

Today we have a solid nine-game slate for MLB DFS. While we enjoy our burgers and dogs and possibly a few adult beverages, be sure to remember our fallen military members who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. As usual, we have a few nice values that will allow us to spend up in other places to get our studs in the lineup. Let’s get to Memorial Day MLB DFS.

***All Prices Are DraftKings***

On the Bump

Chris Paddack – $7,900 – at Chicago Cubs

While the Cubs have played well in May, going 18-8 heading into today, they’ve had little competition. Chicago has faced Washington, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati in 18 of those matchups. Those four teams are a combined 33 games under .500. The Cubbies have also failed to score more than four runs in six of their last eight games. Since coming back on May 9, Paddack has been excellent allowing only three runs in 19 innings. He should also get some run support as Chicago is going with a bullpen game today.

Jameson Taillon – $7,300 – vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Taillon looked good last time out shutting down the White Sox for five innings. The Yankees right-hander gets the Rays today and the strikeout upside is too much to resist. Tampa Bay has K’d more than any team in the league by far (575). Taillon for his part has an excellent 50/12 K/BB rate and his season-high for strikeouts in a game was against these very same Rays when he set down nine in just 4.2 innings.

On the Dirt

Gio Urshela – 3B – $3,900

After the embarrassing weekend series in Detroit, the Yankees come home to face their AL East nemesis. Urshela who has been steady this season loves hitting at Yankee Stadium. In his career, he is slashing .299/.349/.477 with 22 doubles and 15 bombs in the Bronx. Expect Gio to be an important part of the Bombers’ offense today.

Brandon Crawford – SS – $3,800

The long-time Giants shortstop is having an excellent year with 11 homers already including seven this month. He gets to face right-hander Dylan Bundy. The Angels starter has been awful lately. In his last four starts, he’s only managed 15.2 innings and has given up 19 runs in that span. Lefties are tagging him for an even .900 OPS. On the other side, Crawford owns righties this season with a .984 OPS against southpaws and eight of his 11 HRs coming against them. He is my Home Run call of the day.

On the Grass

Kyle Lewis – $3,400

This is a great price for a player who hits in the middle of the lineup. Lewis has a little three-game hitting streak going and has hit safely in eight of his last nine with a couple of homers. He also just faced James Kaprielian five days ago and had a base hit against him. Lewis is a solid cash game play.

Wil Myers – $3,200

Myers is one of the hottest bats right now and I was on him on Friday. He is 7-for-16 in his last four games with a couple of bombs and six RBI. He has also walked twice and only struck out once. The Padres’ offense is clicking as they have scored 42 runs in the first seven games of this road trip. San Diego’s right fielder should be in a few of your lineups today especially in GPPs.

Happy Memorial Day and Good Luck.
