Heller Answers His 3 Burning Questions: Tennessee Titansby Joe Heller March 18, 2021 1 comment
Prior to the 2020 NFL season, three questions were posed for each of the 32 teams. This is the recap and answers to those questions for the Tennessee Titans.
What will Tannehill from Week 1 look like?
Ryan Tannehill parlayed his stellar play at the quarterback position in 2019, into a big-time contract. He proved the Titans made the right investment. He tallied over 3,800 passing yards and threw 33 touchdowns, against just seven interceptions. Tannehill also added 266 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
Could Henry win back-to-back rushing titles?
Defending rushing champ Derrick Henry did earn his second straight title. But Henry did it in dramatic fashion. Henry became just the eighth running back in NFL history to eclipse the 2,000-yard rushing mark. King Henry also led the league in rushing touchdowns. What makes that even more amazing is the Titans’ offensive line was constantly shuffling due to injuries, none more detrimental than left tackle Taylor Lewan. The new question is, can he make it a three-peat?
Who will be their “surprise” stars?
While the prediction of Adoree’ Jackson being one of the surprise stars in Nashville didn’t pan out. Jackson’s injury sidelined him for most of the season. Even in the games he played he was still getting his footing back. The two biggest surprises were Malcolm Butler on defense. The corner had his best NFL season. He tied his career-high with four interceptions and his 100 tackles erased his previous career-high of 69. On the offensive side, wide receiver Corey Davis was the biggest surprise. He finished the season just 16 yards shy of his first 1,000 yards season. His 984 yards and five scores were both career highs. Jackson and Butler both became salary cap casualties while Davis took his talents to New Jersey.
