Premier League DFS Lineup Plays: (1/2/21)

We have four games on the slate for Saturday, including the fixture between Brighton and Hove Albion against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the matchup that should garner the most attention fantasy-wise will be between Tottenham Hotspur and hapless Leeds United. So without further ado, let’s delve into the player options for this upcoming group of matches. I’ve broken down the selections between forward, midfield, defender, goalkeeper, and utility. Best of luck to everyone with their lineups this weekend.

Forward

Harry Kane (15,000 DK)

Having lost out on potential points against Fulham on Wednesday, Tottenham should be quite eager for the upcoming tilt against a Leeds United side that’s conceded the second-most goals in the Premier League. For Kane, it’s a chance to get back into the scoring column after coming off a humdrum performance against Wolverhampton. Although Kane has been stymied over the last three games, he has still managed to keep himself heavily involved. Consider he has piled up nine shots over that time frame. I like for Kane to put together a quality performance against a hapless Leeds squad as he attempts to break out of his small rut.

Midfielder

Wilfried Zaha (12,000 DK)

Zaha comes off a strong performance in which he picked up the game’s opening goal. Now facing a Sheffield squad that’s given up the fourth-most goals, Zaha will have his chances to get himself on the score sheet. Having racked up eight goals in 14 games, he leads all Crystal Palace players by a large margin. Expected to be highly desirable during the January transfer market, Zaha will be looking to finish out his tenure with some quality performances. If you weren’t able to save enough money to pick up one of the Hotspur stars, Zaha could be an underrated replacement as your offensive general.

Defender

Nelson Semedo (5,100 DK)

Semedo continues to perform in that worker bee type role. In fact, it was against Aston Villa in mid-December that the Wolves defender put together a combination of nine clearances and four tackles to go along with a single shot on target. Consider that Semedo has picked up at least six or more fantasy points in five of the last six matches. Most importantly he will not drag your team down, as Semedo has not picked up a single negative points performance this season. As you look for that cheap grinding defender to lock into your lineup, consider giving Semedo an opportunity.

Goalkeeper

Vicente Guaita (5,200 DK)

Although Crystal Palace has continued to hover around the relegation zone, that has not stopped Guaita from posting serviceable numbers. Keep in mind that over 16 games played, Guaita has racked up just two negative point showings. He now gets a quality fantasy matchup against a Sheffield United club that has continued to struggle over the last handful of games. Keep in mind that over their previous two meetings, United has failed to score. When you consider the price tag for Guaita, he has the makings of a nice value play.

Utility

Son Heung-min (16,200 DK)

If you decide to bypass Kane, Son could offer plenty of scoring potential against Leeds. Prior to that average showing last week against Leicester City, Son had put together a string of three straight double-digit point days. Tottenham should pick up numerous set pieces, so expect a number of extra opportunities for Son to grab bonus points. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Son pick up 15 or more fantasy points.
