Azeez Ojulari is a prospect that you are going to hear many differing opinions on. The word you will certainly hear the most is raw. Ojulari brings a lot to the table, and there’s just so much more untapped potential, which is what makes him an exciting prospect.

Lateral Mobility (8/10)

Ojulari has great play speed that allows him to drop back into coverage or play the outside run. His motor is always running, and he has very long strides that allow him to get up the field quickly.

Bend (10/10)

He shows fantastic length, and his ability to bend around less-athletic offensive tackles should strike fear into opposing quarterbacks. He doesn’t always get to the quarterback in time, but he always applies pressure.

Versatility (9/10)

Ojulari has a lot of tools in his toolbox. As I said earlier, he can drop into coverage, play the run up the middle or on the outside, as well as rush the passer. He’s not the strongest run defender because of his relative lack of size, but he is not a liability by any means.

Point of Attack (6.5/10)

While he is fantastic off the edge, sometimes he seemingly goes in without a plan. When watching his tape, it almost looks chaotic watching him try to get through the line. He doesn’t keep his head up, which makes it look even less planned. This is something that needs improvement.

Strength (7.5/10)

It is clear that Ojulari is very strong, especially against opposing tackles, but at times, he can get overpowered when playing the run. He doesn’t stand a great chance against big guards and gets swallowed up. Once again, for someone his size, this isn’t surprising. He could add on a few more pounds to his frame so that he can garner a bit more strength while maintaining his lean, athletic frame.

Block Shedding (8.5/10)

When facing a double team, Ojulari doesn’t stand a chance, but outside of that, he has great detachment ability. He gets locked up when he goes in without a plan, but when he has a strong point of attack, it’s hard to stop him.

Football IQ (7/10)

Here’s where the word “raw” comes in. Ojulari’s lack of POA also affects this grade, but he’s still learning. He needs to do a better job reading the run and reading screen passes.

Tackling (9/10)

Ojulari is a very strong tackler. He wraps up well and violently takes down opponents. His raw strength comes into play here.

Competitive Toughness (8.5/10)

He just doesn’t give up on the play. He might make some bad reads, but Ojulari is always involved and always trying to make an impact.

Hand Placement (7.5/10)

His hand placement is far from perfect, but it is fixable. Ojulari does whatever he can to break through the line, regardless of technique, so the hand placement is off sometimes.

Player Summary

Ojulari is a very raw prospect with a ton of untapped potential. He has a great combination of size and speed, as well as the ability to do just about everything. He needs to develop a better technique, but his bend hides his flaws. He might need to sit a year before jumping into a starting role in the NFL.

Final Grade (81.5): Late-Second Round Pick

Player Comparison: K’Lavon Chaisson
