Monday Night Football in Week 16 featured a division game between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots. The Bills dominated from the start and cruised to a 38-9 victory. Cam Newton was benched early in the second half for Jarrett Stidham, putting his future with New England further in question.

Josh Allen had another dominant performance, throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns. Stefon Diggs benefited most from Allen’s passing, grabbing nine catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns. Zack Moss added 57 yards and a score on the ground.

First Half

After trading field goals on the opening two possessions, the Bills struck first on a Moss rushing touchdown. The Patriots responded with a long drive ending in a Newton rushing touchdown to make the score 10-9 after a missed extra point.

Just minutes before halftime, Allen threw two more touchdowns, including a 50-yard strike to Diggs. Buffalo led 24-9 at the half.

Second Half

Stidham replaced Newton at quarterback for New England and from that point on it was all Buffalo. Diggs found the end zone twice more in the second half and the Bills held the Patriots to under 100 yards. They would go on to win 38-9 and become the first team to win both division games in a season against the Patriots since 2000.

The Bills advance to 12-3 and clinch the second seed in the AFC. They will await games from the Browns, Dolphins, Ravens, and Colts to see who they take on in the first round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Patriots drop to 6-9 and will need to start thinking about the upcoming offseason.
