Fantasy Sleepers for Week 12by Christopher Gallagher November 27, 2020 0 comments
Thanksgiving weekend is already upon us, meaning that Week 12 of the NFL season is here. An abundance of individual players and matchups provides sleeper opportunities across the board. Last week our picks found success once again. Kirk Cousins passed for 314 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings’ loss to the Cowboys while Nyheim Hines hauled in three receptions for 31 yards in the Colts’ thrilling overtime victory against the Packers. With only five regular-season games remaining after this week, let’s waste no time and dive into this week’s picks.
Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles
Struggling mightily during his 2020 campaign, Wentz has tossed 14 interceptions while fumbling the ball ten times. Still, the former number two overall pick remains the number 14 overall quarterback through 11 weeks. Against the Browns last week, he was harassed all game long, leading to five sacks and multiple turnovers. Despite his recent stretch of unfulfilling play, roll with Wentz this week in a home matchup with the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed the third-most fantasy points per offensive play with a massive 7.98 yards given up per attempt. Allowing eight of ten quarterbacks to finish in the 13 or better, expect Carson to have a better performance on Monday, making him a high-end QB2 option this week.
Michael Pittman Jr, Indianapolis Colts
Beginning to become a larger part of the Colts offense with 18 targets over his previous three games, Pittman hauled in three receptions for 66 yards a score in the Colts Week 11 victory. With a divisional matchup on deck against the Titans, roll with the USC alumn as a solid WR4. The Titans defense has allowed over 265 passing yards per game on average, with a 63.7 target share going to opposing receivers. Tennessee allowed Pittman to have a career-high eight targets against them in their Week 10 matchup. Currently ranked as WR36 heading into the week, the 23-year-old has top-25 upside this week with tremendous value.
Nelson Agholor, Las Vegas Raiders
Fresh off a nine target performance against the Chiefs, stream Agholor this week as a WR4 with upside. The five-year veteran has posted over ten fantasy points in half his games this season. He has begun to receive an expanded target share with the struggles of rookie Henry Ruggs. Expect his solid stretch of play to continue in a matchup with the Falcons. Atlanta has struggled to slow down opposing pass offenses as they have allowed over 210 yards to receivers per game. He is currently rostered in under 40% of teams in fantasy leagues and provides upside for owners in need of a pass catcher heading into the week.
Frank Gore, New York Jets
Continuing to make an impact in what will likely be his final year in the NFL, Gore will likely lead the Jets backfield for the remainder of the season, with LaMical Perine placed on the injured reserve list. Expect him to have another plus performance in Week 12. Allowing over 134 yards per game on the ground this season, the Dolphins have also allowed eight opposing backs to find the end zone. Along with this, Miami allowed Gore to rush for 70 yards on 15 carries in their week six matchup, leading to an RB22 finish. An RB3 option for players in deep leagues, stream Gore as a dependable option with little upside.
Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers
Bridgewater is likely to be back under center for the Panthers on Sunday in a matchup against the Vikings, and you can play him as a top 15 QB with upside. Unable to scheme up pressure or hold up in pass coverage, Mike Zimmer’s group has allowed five quarterbacks to throw multiple touchdown passes this season with just a 27.1 percent pressure rate. Bridgewater has been great from the pocket all season long and has finished with over 20 fantasy points in four of his starts, leading to a 117 QB rating heading into week 12. Expected to be without star running back Christian McCaffrey due to a nagging shoulder injury, look for the talented group of Carolina receivers to have their way with a young cornerback group in Minnesota. Because of this, Bridgewater is an attractive option for owners in need of help at the quarterback spot.
