Fanelli’s Fave Five Prop Bets for MNF: New England Patriots vs. New York Jets

by November 9, 2020 0 comments

Yesterday, we had plenty of exciting NFL action. Hopefully, you read my weekly prop bets article before the games kicked off and were able to make some money. While last night’s game was between two future Hall of Famers, tonight’s game is between the struggling Cam Newton and past his prime Joe Flacco. Despite the boring matchup on paper, there is money to be made. Here are my five favorite prop bets for tonight’s game.

All props are from DraftKings. Sign up today with my code and make a $25 deposit to receive a free $25 bet!

Cam Newton Under 209.5 Passing Yards (-125)

Aside from the Week 2 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, Newton has thrown for under 175 yards in every other game this season. Furthermore, since their Week 5 bye, Newton is averaging only 143 passing yards per game. To make matters worse, Julian Edelman is on injured reserve while N’Keal Harry won’t play because of a concussion. With both out last week, Newton threw the ball only 25 times against the Buffalo Bills. It is more likely Cam is benched for Jarrett Stidham than he throws for over 209.5 yards in this game.

Jamison Crowder Over 4.5 Receptions (-105)

At the time of writing, Crowder was questionable with a groin injury, so be sure to check the pregame inactive list before placing your bet. However, if Crowder plays, he is in line for a high usage game. In the four games, he’s played this season, Crowder is averaging 7.5 receptions on 11.5 targets per game. Furthermore, Crowder has at least seven receptions in every game this season. If Stephon Gilmore plays, he won’t follow Crowder into the slot, giving Flacco every reason to target Crowder early and often.

Jakobi Meyers Over 3.5 Receptions (-105)

The Patriots offense is far from impressive on paper as Newton has struggled to throw the ball. However, with Edelman and Harry out, that opens up more targets for Meyers. In each of his last two games, Meyers has four or more receptions. Furthermore, he has 16 of his 17 targets this season over the previous two weeks. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have given up 18 or more receptions to wide receivers in half of their games this season. Expect Meyers to have his third straight game with four or more receptions tonight.

Jamison Crowder Over 49.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

While Crowder is the king of check-down routes, he is averaging 13.2 yards per reception this season. At that average, it would only take four receptions to hit the over on this prop, and Crowder is averaging 7.5 receptions per game. Furthermore, Crowder has at least 48 receiving yards in every game this season while going over the century mark in three of four games. Whether it’s Flacco or Sam Darnold under center, Crowder has been the Jets’ go-to receiver this season and should hit the over on this prop by halftime.

Cam Newton Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-143)

Not only has Cam thrown for under 175 yards in all but one game this season, he hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since September. Furthermore, Cam has only two passing touchdowns this season compared to seven interceptions. Meanwhile, the Jets have held quarterbacks under two passing touchdowns in three of their last six games. With a short leash and limited weapons, don’t be surprised if Cam struggles to throw one touchdown, let alone two, tonight.
