Report: Titans Set to Release an Offseason Signeeby Joe Heller November 4, 2020 0 comments
The Tennessee Titans have notified linebacker Vic Beasley that he will be released on Wednesday.
Beasley, the former Falcons linebacker, was signed by the Titans to a one-year $9.5 million deal back in April. However, he has had a growing list of issues since joining the team. He reported 10 days late to training camp and then missed the first two games of the season.
Since making his debut, Beasley has made no impact and had yet to record a sack in five games in two-tone blue.
This move is Titans general manager Jon Robinson admitting he made a mistake with this signing. Beasley has had questions about his commitment dating back to his days in Atlanta with the Falcons.
The release of Beasley comes on the heels of the Titans also severing ties with cornerback Johnathan Joseph, who had struggled all season including against the Steelers and Bengals the last two weeks. They also parted ways with long snapper Beau Brinkley, who has also had issues in each of the past two games.
The Titans are making it clear that the time for patience and hoping that things will improve is over. This season is at its halfway point and the contenders (the Titans were among the top of that conversation when they were 5-0), will begin to separate from the pretenders.
Interested suitors will be able to sign Beasley as early as Thursday.
