Report: Tennessee Titans Acquire Desmond King from the Los Angeles Chargersby Joe Heller November 2, 2020 0 comments
The Tennessee Titans acquire much needed secondary help today, trading a sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Chargers for defensive back Desmond King.
The Titans are coming off of back to back losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals, after starting the season 5-0.
Since the season started the Titans defense, especially the secondary has been susceptible to big plays. Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, who the team picked up his fifth-year option in March, has yet to play this season, as he recovers from an injury.
A King, a fifth-round pick in 2017, has been on the trading block since prior to the season. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2018 but has been hobbled by a knee injury.
As Tuesday’s trade deadline has approached, rumors were the Titans were trying to acquire defending Defensive Player of the Year, Stephon Gilmore. With the asking price from the New England Patriots likely a first or second-round pick, that trade could also still be in play.
