Stroman was acquired at the 2019 trade deadline and played very well down the stretch for them. The Long Island native was lights out during spring training, making Mets fans look forward to the upcoming season.

The Chicago Cubs have declined Jon Lester’s $25 million option and he is now a free agent. Lester is one of the most accomplished starting pitchers in the game and could be an asset for a contending team.
