Rangers Trade Minor to Athletics for Two Prospectsby John Lepore August 31, 2020 0 comments
Another starting pitcher is on the move. The Texas Rangers have traded Mike Minor to the Oakland A’s for two players to be named later.
Jeff Passan of ESPN reports:
The Oakland A’s have acquired left-hander Mike Minor from the Texas Rangers for two players to be named later, sources tell ESPN. A’s needed rotation help and get it with a trade for Minor, who’s a free agent after this season.

What Oakland Gets
Minor hasn’t been as good as he was last season. In 2020 he is 0-5 with a 5.60 ERA. Although he did shut down a tough Los Angeles Dodgers lineup on Friday. Minor still offers some stability to a rotation that has underperformed this year. The A’s are in first place in the AL West but their starters haven’t been very good. They have a 4.84 ERA as opposed to the relievers who sport a 1.87 ERA. Minor will definitely give Bob Melvin some flexibility. Minor is a free agent at the end of the season.
