Kristaps Porzingis Ruled Out For Remainder of 1st Round

The Dallas Mavericks announced Kristaps Porzingis will miss the remainder of their first-round series with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers lead the series 3-2.

Luka Doncic has led the Mavericks in a series that has been more competitive than many projected. Without their big man, Dallas lacks the firepower to win two consecutive games against the title-contending Clippers. Game 5 was a rout in favor of L.A., 154-111.

Porzingis played in three playoff games for Dallas prior to the injury, averaging 23.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. During the regular season, he averaged 20.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.

Dallas is likely to play it safe with their Latvian big man, who missed the entire 2018-19 season while recovering from a torn ACL. He played in two games following the initial injury, which the Mavericks say took place in game one of this series. With an eye on the future, Porzingis has likely played his final game of the 2020 NBA campaign.
