MLB DFS August 26: Diamond Picks

MLB DFS August 26: Diamond Picks

by August 26, 2020 0 comments

Here we are entrenched into August with the fall season right around the corner. The trade deadline is also approaching with many teams heavily involved in the race towards a playoff birth. Stay tuned for wall-to-wall coverage but in the meantime, let’s continue to build optimal lineups to cash in on whatever contests you are eyeing up this evening.

Jacob deGrom (NYM)

Exactly one week later and deGrom is tops on my pitcher’s list yet again. Out of all MLB’s stud aces, deGrom is just so consistent and just so good. deGrom has pilled up 35 Ks in his last 28 innings pitched. deGrom has already faced the Miami Marlins twice this year has given up just two runs in 11 innings of work while punching out 13. On the season the Fish are slugging a 26th ranked .374 while only averaging 0.889 HRs per game (28th).

*Adrian Houser (MIL) home to Cincinnati and Dinelson Lamet (SD) home to the Seattle Mariners are fully in play as your sp2 option

Cavan Biggio 2B (TOR)

It’s no secret that the Jays are playing some really good baseball backed by some really good pitching and some consistent hitting. Biggio is on a tear of sorts. He currently has a 17-game-on-base streak in the works heading into Tuesday’s opener with the Red Sox. Biggio, always patient at the plate, is hitting at a .350 clip with 11 extra-base hits and 11 runs driven in during the ultra-productive stretch.

Biggio and the Jays will look to damage against the Bosox. The Sox will trot out Colten Brewer to start the game, he serves as a quality spot starter. They will look to smash versus the Sox’s host of uninspiring relievers as well, all toll they own the second-worst team ERA in all of baseball at 5.75.

*Miguel Sano 1B/3B(MIN) is still on my radar despite the Cleveland Indians turning to Mike Clevinger. Sano has an impressive .962 SLG with seven doubles over his last 26 at-bats before Tuesday’s action.

Trent Grisham OF (SD)

Until Slam Diego cools off there is no sense of going in another direction. The Padres are hitting the cover off the ball and will get the Seattle Mariners and a 28th(5.72 ERA) ranked bullpen. Taijuan Walker(2-2, 4.00) is scheduled to get the nod as the starter. Walker is pitching decently this season and has owned the Friars over his last five but the starts are spanned from last year until all the way back in 2015 when the Padres were going through rebuilds.

The left-handed-hitting Grisham has sparked the Padres offense with a .321 average and a .679 SLG over his last 28 at-bats.

Cody Bellinger OF (LAD)

Fingers crossed, Belli is back…. four taters in the last eight days. All toll in his last 20 AB’s he has hit to a .350 average and a 1.000 SLG. (last night he went 3-for-6)The Dodgers will be in San Francisco Wednesday night and will look to mash against righty Kevin Gausman (1-1, 4.65). Gausman actually has pitched very very well for the Giants/ 42 K in 31 IP. This is a supercharged offense, however, with one of the league’s best finally starting to get things right. Once things turn over to the pen Bellinger and company will face off against a group of arms ranked 27th in ERA at 5.68.
