We are back with another edition of Core Four. A few of our plays last night got hurt but stuffed the stat sheet before departing. Let’s hope for a healthier night tonight!
We have an early slate of games so let’s get to it! As usual, all prices below are DraftKings
Wright is a lock and load play here for one reason only! Besides the favorable matchup, Luke Doncic, the goat, is out tonight for rest purposes. In his absence, Wright should get a ton of run. His stats on the year are pretty pathetic, to be honest, but with no Doncic, a team giving up the 26th most fantasy points to opposing guards, AND, a boatload of minutes coming up, I’ll take my chances here on Wright. On the year, he’s averaging 7.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Watch him double these numbers in today’s performance. He’s my sleeper pick here.
Carter is one of my favorite players since the NBA reset began. He’s played more than 20 minutes in four of the last five games, and he’s playing with exceptional athleticism. His numbers don’t speak justice on how he’s been performing the last couple of days. Carter is coming off a huge performance where he put up a season-high 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Totaling 36 fantasy points! At this price point, with a cupcake matchup against OKC, Carter is going to surprise plenty of owners. Get him in your lineup, and he’s my LOCK of the night. (Surprising, I know). But, that’s how confident I am in him!
Ayton is a superstar! He’s matchup proof and nothing will change that. A monster on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. He’s coming off a nice double-double! Putting up 18 points and 12 rebounds in a win against a very good Miami Heat team. This matchup is easier, as the Thunder allow the 24th most points to opposing big men. Ayton is going to feast today and the Thunder will struggle mightily to contain him. Ayton is as easy a play here as it gets. Just plug him in, and forget!
Gobert gets the call here for a few reasons. First of all, Doncic is out, and that changes the whole flow of the team for the Mavericks. Mavericks are ranked 19th is opposing points and rebounds to opposing big men and that’s where Gobert lives! Gobert is coming off a nice 22 point 13 rebound game performance, and those numbers should only go up today! On the year, Gobert is averaging 15.2 points, 13.6 rebounds 1.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. Gobert is also severely underpriced in my opinion. He’s going to thrive early and often today! Another fantastic play here!
That does it for this edition of Core Four! Hope you guys enjoy it and stay safe!
