The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went out this draft and got some talented players to fill key roles on both sides of the ball.
They were shaping up to be a good team by adding Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to an already talented offense with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and O.J. Howard. Now Tampa Bay looks to be a scary opponent for any team in 2020, especially with the young talent they drafted.
Round 1, Pick 13: OT Tristan Wirfs
Wirfs was a great pick for Tampa out of Iowa. This guy is big, strong, and physical and will be able to do an outstanding job protecting Tom Brady. He also has a great ability to create holes for running backs. By giving Brady more time in the pocket, he will have more time to look downfield and find his weapons.
This offensive tackle is a huge weapon for Tampa.
Round 2, Pick 45: S Antoine Winfield Jr.
The Buccaneers knew they needed help in the secondary, and they got that help with Antoine Winfield. Winfield Jr. is a fast safety that can move well sideline-to-sideline and has great ball-tracking skills. He will help that defense become lockdown. Winfield will help force turnovers and get some interceptions as well.
This guy is ready to play.
Round 3, Pick 76: RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn
Vaughn will help the Bucs in the backfield. He will be able to take some snaps and can see holes and make quick cuts. He can also block well, giving Tampa a lot of options on that offense.
Round 5, Pick 161: WR Tyler Johnson
Johnson brings a great ability to catch through being contested, making him a great addition to the Buccaneers’ offense. Even if he isn’t a focal point early on, Johnson will be able to learn from some of the best receivers in the league.
Round 6, Pick 194: DL Khalil Davis
Khalil Davis is a strong linebacker that can read quarterbacks and plays at a proficient level. He will be able to help bring pressure on quarterbacks and make big plays on tight ends and running backs.
This guy will be a force to reckon with.
Round 7, Pick 241: LB Chapelle Russell
Chapelle Russell is a playmaker and gives 100 percent every time he’s on the field. The Buccaneers like his energy and can’t wait until he’s in pads. Adding depth in the linebacker position is always a good choice.
Round 7, Pick 245: RB Raymond Calais
Raymond Calais is a running back that can do it all. He bursts out with tons of speed and has great lateral speed. He does great with battling for extra yards and gets those hard, dirty yards that make a difference.
The Buccaneers have made a good choice with this talented athlete.
