For a team that’s missed the playoffs for the past seven seasons, there sure is a lot of optimism surrounding the Arizona Coyotes. For starters, there’s a new owner in town. His name? Alex Meruelo, who’s brought a new outlook to the hockey operations department down in Glendale. In addition, there’s general manager John Chayka, who brought the likes of Taylor Hall and Phil Kessel to the desert with hopes of gaining some semblance of hockey relevancy. Head coach Rick Tocchet heads the list as one of the most innovative and well-respected coaches in the National Hockey League.
The Tennessee Titans entered the 2020 NFL Draft with clear needs on the offensive line, defensive line, and in the secondary. With only six picks in this draft, the Titans tried their best to address their needs and it led to a reach or two.
Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft the Jaguars had a lot of needs and a lot of draft picks to fill those needs. The most glaring of those needs were cornerback, wide receiver, defensive end, defensive tackle, and offensive tackle. They addressed all five of those with their first five picks.
After an up-and-down last few seasons in the City of Brotherly Love that saw the team miss the postseason in four of the last seven years, the Flyers seemed to have found their “mojo” in 2019-20. This mojo appears in the form of the perfect balance of youth, good coaching, veteran leadership, and a stud goaltender. What an exciting draft weekend! Now all that we can do is talk about the prospects each team drafted. One thing is certain from the weekend, the Detroit Lions got better with each of their picks. As well, It is no secret that Lions head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn needed impact players that could play right away, as they are on the hot seat. From this draft, the Lions picked several pro-ready players that will make a difference in their 2020 season. With that said, this is the recap of the Lions draft and highlights the players they drafted.
When the MLB season does begin, the Boston Red Sox will have a new opening day starter for the first time since 2017. Over the past two years, that honor has fallen to Chris Sale, however, he will miss all of the 2020 seasons due to Tommy John surgery.
