Entering the offseason, the Minnesota Vikings faced several critical decisions. With basically no cap space, the Vikings had to let go of several veterans. I went solo this time to look back on this day in baseball history, as I talked about the debut of “The Kid” 31 years ago today, new Yankee Stadium and Citi Field being inaugurated, a few trades, and more! Not as many big events occurred on this day than others, but they were still very notable.

The Montreal Canadiens remain one of the most famous and recognizable franchises in the National Hockey League. We’ve all heard the names who have donned the white, red, and blue “Tricolore” of Montreal and marveled at icons such as Maurice “Rocket” Richard, Jean Beliveau, Patrick Roy, Henri Richard, Guy Lafleur, and Yvan Cournoyer. Although these are all pretty good pieces, they’re a far cry from the “good old days” that so many Canadiens from across Canada and the United States were accustomed to during the 1970s.
Often, athletes “overstay” their welcome in their respective sport, resorting to a shell of their former self before retiring. Jordan Leandre recounts a time where that didn’t happen. In fact, back in 2016, quite the opposite occurred in Boston:
