Week 1 of the NFL schedule is in the books. Teams have started to make their impressions not only to the fans but to all football bettors. Some tough teams remained solid, while others have disappointed their fans after an unsuccessful opening game.
While opening day of the NFL offered a lot of suspense, there’s more to come. The football community is looking forward to 16 more weeks of football games to name who deserves a shot at the Super Bowl LIV title which will take place on February 7, 2021, at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida.
As the NFL proceeds to the second week of the season, let’s take a look at who are the Week 1 best NFL picks that have impressed the football community. These teams have not only shown their talents but have also topped the betting games such as the moneyline.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have lived up to their promise of taking home the victory on opening night. With home-field advantage, the Chiefs slew the Texans in a 34-20 beating. Patrick Mahomes immediately shined upon opening the game, making an impression as one of the best quarterbacks in today’s NFL.
Washington Redskins
After a five-year drought from the NFL playoffs, the Washington Redskins rose from the ashes. They faced the Philadelphia Eagles on opening day and defeated them 27-17. The Redskins didn’t have second thoughts of showing how well they can work out this season, sending Dwayne Haskins as the main man on the field.
New England Patriots
Although Brady left the Pats this season for the Bucs, it does not make the team lesser to consider in today’s NFL edition. They bested the Miami Dolphins during opening day by a final score of 21-11. With Cam Newton replacing the legend as the team’s newest quarterback, it seems Bill Belichick had made the right decision in signing him.
Green Bay Packers
The Vikings made significant adjustments this year, but as they faced the Green Bay Packers on opening day, their weapons got short. The game ended with a final score of 43-34 in favor of the Packers. Looking into their matchup, the Packers showed almost the same performance last year, which allowed them to appear in the playoffs.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are regarded as the biggest underdog this year but have managed to impress the football community on opening day. They defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 27-20. The last time the Jaguars appeared in the playoffs was in 2017, and if they continue to perform excellently this season, they might have a shot for the Super Bowl LV title.
Chicago Bears
Matt Nagy worked so much during the NFL Draft, and his efforts paid off after winning their first game against the Detroit Lions, 27-23. They missed the playoffs last year as they had the toughest schedule in their conference. Despite the team trading for Nick Foles, Mitchell Trubisky was very good in the second half, which is why they won the game.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens faced the Cleveland Browns during the season opener and won 38-6. It’s was probably the most disappointing outcome the Browns could foresee. The Ravens showed no mercy during the game. Lamar Jackson has genuinely made a legacy of impressing the football community once again.
Seattle Seahawks
Tallying a final score of 38-25 against the Atlanta Falcons, the Seahawks are heading once again to a better playoff placement this season. Last year, they appeared in the league playoffs as an underdog. On opening day, they showed they may be poised for football greatness again.
New Orleans Saints
It seems that Tom Brady‘s and Rob Gronkowski‘s debuts for the Bucs were not good after the New Orleans Saints smashed them during the opening game. The game ended in favor of the Saints, 34-23. Drew Brees showed so much during the opening game, proving he may still be better than Brady and many other quarterbacks in the NFL.
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are this year’s underdogs, yet they left the San Francisco 49ers shaking their heads after beating them 24-20. The 49ers were last year’s NFL runner-up, and it seems that their shine is starting to fade out this season already. The Cardinals Kyler Murray was mainly responsible for defeating the Niners.

The NFL Week 1 Playoff results are a clear manifestation that winners can come unpredictably. Although some of them are expected to win, other groups, such as the underdogs, can dominate at the same time. As we expect another 16 weeks of NFL playoffs, there are many things at stake.
