Without further ado, April 2.
Orioles 5, Cardinals 4 (F/10)
It took extra innings, but the Orioles became the 30th team to win a game. Austin Wynns’s two-run homer and Andrew Velazquez’s two-run single proved critical in this one. Dexter Fowler’s two-hit, two-RBI game was impressive in the Cardinals’ loss. The St. Louis bullpen blew this one by allowing all five runs over the final two innings.
Red Sox 7, White Sox 3
Michael Chavis had a big day, going two-for-four with three RBI. Xander Bogaerts added a three-run bomb along the way. Chicago’s Dallas Keuchel allowed three unearned runs over seven innings before Jimmy Cordero entered out of the bullpen and surrendered four earned runs while recording just one out.
Yankees 5, Blue Jays 4 (F/10)
It took extras, but the Yankees held on to the best record in the AL East on Thursday. Toronto’s Bo Bichette went three-for-four with two RBI in the loss. For New York, Miguel Andujar and Gary Sanchez (home run) each added two RBI.
Tigers 8, Indians 7
The Tigers benefitted from the big day of Miguel Cabrera, whose three hits drove in two runs. They also welcomed Harold Castro’s three-run homer in the sixth inning. Martin Pérez, Carlos Santana, and Jose Ramírez added two-RBI games for the Tribe but it was all for naught in the loss.
Mariners 2, Royals 0
Kyle Seager’s two-for-four day with a home run complemented a Mitch Haniger RBI single as the lone runs in this one. Taijuan Walker dominated on the mound, allowing zero runs on five hits and two walks over nine innings. On the other side, Brad Keller pitched a great game but his offense couldn’t back it up.
Twins 9, Athletics 2
The Twins had a seven-run eighth inning to take the lead and win. Mark Canha was the top performer for Oakland, adding a two-run bomb in the loss. Minnesota’s Jorge Polanco was two-for-five with four RBI while Eddie Rosario added two RBI on three hits and Jake Cave also knocked in two. Jake Odorizzi settled down for 5.1 innings of baseball while Homer Bailey relieved him with 3.2 scoreless frames.
Angels 4, Rangers 2
Jason Castro slapped a three-run double and later scored on a Brandon Marsh sac fly, accounting for all Angels runs in the win. On the other side, Elvis Andrus and Robinson Chirinos each added solo homers. Andrew Heaney went an impressive 7.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Hansel Robles and Ty Buttrey combined for two scoreless innings to finish the game.
Mets 3, Nationals 2
Wilson Ramos and Yeonis Cespedes both homered while Eduardo Nuñez tallied three hits in the Mets’ win. For the Nats, Trea Turner’s two-run homer in the fifth accounted for the entirety of Washington’s run production. Stephen Strasburg and Noah Syndergaard both went six innings while allowing two runs before Wander Suero surrendered Ramos’s go-ahead homer.
Phillies 2, Brewers 1
The Brewers fell to 1-6 after another rough game. Philadelphia welcomed Bryce Harper’s two-run homer to take the lead in the sixth. Andrew Suarez allowed one run over four innings while five relievers took over to allow an impressive zero runss on two hits and a walk over the remaining five frames.
Pirates 2, Reds 0
This was a quiet game for both sides but the Bucs had the edge thanks to fabulous pitching and RBI from both Jarrod Dyson and Gregory Polanco. Chris Archer allowed zero runs on five hits while striking out 10 batters over eight innings.

Jorge Polanco was two-for-five with four RBI in the Twins’ blowout win over the Athletics, earning him Player of the Day honors for April 2.
