With the World Series in the books, it’s time to dive into the MLB offseason. With three managerial positions currently vacant, we’re tracking the latest news, rumors, and updates surrounding the biggest openings across the league.

Boston Red Sox

Boston parted ways with Alex Cora last winter and moved on from interim skipper Ron Roenicke at the end of this season. While there is talk about Cora returning to Fenway Park, other candidates are also expected to receive a look from the Boston brass.

Detroit Tigers

The Tigers were not expecting to hire a new manager this offseason, yet they’ve conducted the most interviews out of all three teams. Their plans were mixed up significantly when veteran skipper Ron Gardenhire announced his retirement from baseball. Now, Detroit will likely be looking for a leader and former player with dugout experience to turn around the franchise’s recent woes.

Chicago White Sox

Despite making the postseason, Chicago parted ways with manager Rick Renteria at the end of the season. They have been quite slow to conduct interviews so far, suggesting they’ll go with Hinch or Cora as their next skipper. After all, general manager Rick Hanh hinted at the idea that he wanted his next manager to have a winning track record and World Series experience.
