What Would a Red Sox And Dodgers Blockbuster Trade Look Like?by Kyle Porch December 17, 2019 0 comments
When Bob Nightengale released a report on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the early stages of contact with the Boston Red Sox, speculation of trade packages came flying in. With all of this speculation, what should the Red Sox get in return?
Some are calling for the team to deal Mookie Betts, others are saying David Price. What if the Dodgers took both? They do have the financial flexibility for Price ( $36 million per season until 2022.) and Betts ( expected $25-$30 million in arbitration this season.)
The team also has a plethora of prospects and MLB ready talent to piece a trade. They have been reluctant thus far to bring Gavin Lux on the trade block thus far. The shortstop is the No.2 prospect in all of baseball, who is considered untouchable in talks with other teams such as the Indians with Lindor, and the Cubs with Bryant. Could a power swap of Betts and Price entice them more?
Teams have also heard that Corey Seager is on the table. The infielder has not done much since his rookie campaign, but maybe a change of scenery could help. He would help fill an immediate hole at second base. His bat is also streaky and it could help in the lineup. Dustin May and Keibert Ruiz have both been mentioned as well.
Los Angeles Dodgers receive: Mookie Betts, David Price, and cash considerations
The Boston Red Sox receive: Gavin Lux, Corey Seager, and Keibert Ruiz.
