Report: Mike Evans Out for Season With Hamstring Injuryby Kyle O'Connell December 10, 2019 0 comments
Buccaneers duo Jameis Winston and Mike Evans connected on a 61-yard touchdown early in Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. As Evans made his way into the endzone he grabbed back at his right hamstring and was removed from the game immediately.
In the post-game press conference, head coach Bruce Arians said that Evans had a significant injury and was ‘very doubtful’ for this coming Sunday against the Lions. However, just hours ago Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Evans is expected to miss the remainder of the season. If he, in fact, misses the final three games it will impact thousands of people participating in fantasy football playoffs.
Evans is currently third in the league with 1,157 receiving yards and has added eight touchdowns through the air. One of his best moments this season came in Week 3 against the New York Giants in which he put up 45 fantasy points (PPR) as he caught eight passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns.
While Evans is out, look for Chris Godwin to get even more volume as well as tight ends Cameron Brate and OJ Howard. Jameis Winston’s turnover struggles should continue as well since his most reliable target won’t be out for the Buccaneers.
