David Krejci has been playing some really strong, reliable hockey as of late, writes Jamie Gatlin.
Vernon Hargreaves III was not out of work for long. He has been claimed off of the waiver wire by the Houston Texans.
This was a great weekend of football. The NFL week opened up with a great Raiders-Chargers game and closed with one of the best games ever. College football provided some great games as well, headlined by the LSU-Alabama matchup. After the incredible weekend, here is where everyone in the NFL stands.
We got a solid seven-game slate for tonight. The best matchup is the Houston Rockets against the Los Angeles Clippers. Paul George is also scheduled to come back and the Clippers will be at full strength. Below are my top value players for this slate.
This evenings’ slate of five games has been trimmed down to three. The ever-improving Chicago Blackhawks travel to Vegas to play the struggling Golden Knights. The Senators visit the New Jersey Devils in a game that has more appeal than it would a few weeks ago as both teams are making small strides to improve. Finally, in what could be the game of the night, the Washington Capitals will square off with divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers. Lace-em’up ladies and gents, time to make some Ice Picks!
The shorthanded Miami Heat took care of business by defeating the Blake Griffin-less Detriot Pistons. Even though the Heat nearly lost a double-digit lead, they made enough plays late to finish off the Pistons. The team now moves to 7-3 for the season.
Here are my takeaways from Tuesday’s win over the Pistons.
What a weird week 10 it was, Patrick Mahomes return and Christian McCaffrey performed like always, but if you had the usual studs like Alvin Kamara, Saquon Barkley, or Drew Brees they didn’t come up big. That’s where the IDP guys come in handy and help keep your team afloat. Making that playoff push is key at this stage and every little point helps. Let’s get right into last week’s recap and on to my picks for week 11.
The Houston Astros had one of their former pitchers come forward about illegal sign stealing by way of electronics. With that in mind, how much did they benefit from that?
Every year when it comes to playoff rankings, we talk about the non-conference schedule. While we talk about it being important, we also ignore our own opinions on that when it comes to how we rank and perceive teams when it comes to the playoff rankings. Consistently, we have some teams that are wiling to schedule tough opponents every year, some who are willing to but never as a true road team, and some who refuse. Until we fix the method of scheduling in college football, we are never going to solve this.
Dallas Cowboys defensive end talked his way out of New England seems to hold no hard feelings towards his former
Focus turns to the NFL playoff picture in this week’s edition of Woz’s NFL Notebook. The Baltimore Ravens dominated last week’s edition, and they are my team-of-the-week, but we start this week in the NFC. The NFL playoff picture is fascinating and there are many permutations. Teams with aspirations of playing football in January are fighting for every inch on the field.
