Van Noy Shoots Down Comparisons to Patriots Legend

Ever since being traded from the Detroit Lions to the New England Patriots, Kyle Van Noy has become a staple in the organization’s defense.

Van Noy’s vocal leadership sparked comparison questions between he and former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison by radio host Marc Bertrand.

The AFC Defensive Player of the Week shot down the comments not wanting anything to do with Harrison.

“Don’t compare me to him, man,” Van Noy said on 98.5. “I don’t want to be compared to that guy. I’m good.”

He continued, stating he has nothing against the Patriots Hall of Famer.

“I have nothing against him I just don’t want to be compared – definitely not to him, Van Noy said to Bertrand. “He just does things differently than myself. That’s fair, right?”

While he has a right to carve out his own legacy, one must call into question why he would be so defensive about being compared to Harrison as the former safety is an All-Pro and as previously mentioned, is in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

The Patriots take on the Redskins Sunday at 1 p.m.
