The New England Patriots are shoring up their offensive line in wake of Marcus Cannon’s shoulder injury.

Per Field Yates, the team reportedly signed journeyman offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse earlier today.

Newhouse, 30, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. The TCU alum had stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, and New Orleans Saints.

He has played in 114 games at tackle starting 72 of them.

Newhouse is listed behind Korey Cunningham on the team’s official depth chart.

In addition, the Patriots re-signed Obi Melifonwu to the practice squad as well as adding defensive back Nate Brooks there as well.

The team also cut offensive lineman Colby Gossett off the practice squad.
