Connecticut Woman Arrested for Theft at New York Streets Games

A Connecticut woman as been arrested in connection with the incident that occured during the New York Streets-Carolina Cobras game last Sunday when the Cobras locker room was broken into. A ring and $3,000 cash was stolen from the locker room, according to a report.

The woman has been identified as 18 year old Aniyah Booker. She had been working with the Streets as a production contractor. She currently faces two misdemeanor larceny charges.

Booker is being charged for two different incidents. The first occured during a July 5 game when a Streets dancer had $1,000 stolen from her bag which was left unattended in the dancers locker room.

After being brought into custody, Booker was released on a desk appearance ticket. She is required to to appear in White Plains court on Aug. 8.

“I am thankful to the Westchester County Police for the swift investigation of this matter,” Streets owner Corey Galloway said in a statement. “A game-day production hire, Aniyah Booker, been charged with the two recent thefts that occurred at the Westchester County Center at New York Streets home games.

“I am outraged by her actions and I fully support the criminal charges that were brought against her,” Galloway continued. “Aniyah’s actions have caused serious damage to our team, our fans and the National Arena League. We expect she will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Both the Streets and Cobras were fined and Carolina Cobras head coach Billy Back has been suspended for the team’s regular season finale against the Columbus Lions tomorrow night.

The Streets currently sit at a 4-9 record [they were awarded a forfeit win.] They will wrap up their inaugural season on the road against the Massachusetts Pirates this weekend.
