The 6-foot-9 forward originally agreed to a two-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs but backed out before the signing was official and had his offer revoked by San Antonio.
Forward Marcus Morris tells @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium on reopening his free agency and signing with the Knicks on a one-year, $15M deal: “I had to make this decision based on the best situation for me and my family. This is no knock on the Spurs. I have respect for them.”

Morris was one of the best remaining free agents, who put up 16 points and six boards a night in his most recent season as a member of the Boston Celtics. He is entering his 10th year in the NBA, adding a vital role to the otherwise youthful Knicks roster.
He will likely be given a spot in their starting lineup, and play alongside Dennis Smith Jr., Julius Randle, and the highly coveted rookie in RJ Barrett.
