Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals is here, and the Boston Bruins are fired up.

After what can only be described as an epic comeback in game 1 where the Bruins scored four unanswered goals, the Bruins and their fan base are buzzing.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Jeff Gordon admitted “The Boston Bruins have steamrolled opponents with one of the most impressive postseason rolls in modern NHL times. So heading into Game 2, folks weren’t just wondering if the Blues could get back into this series and make this Stanley Cup battle competitive. Pundits were wondering if the Blues could even win a game against Boston. Rather than wondering if the Blues could regroup, bounce back and take the series as they did in the first three playoff rounds, folks were wondering if the Blues just earn a modicum of respect on the big stage while Boston got busy with its parade preparations. That’s how dramatically Game 1 shifted.”

Game 1 started, undoubtedly, as the Blues’ game. It was a curse, everyone said, a pattern that the team who swept in the previous round would be swept again.

The Blues scored two goals, including one off of a lazy miscue behind the Bruins net. Then Bruins rookie Connor Clifton scored, putting the Bruins back in the game. Clifton’s goal was followed by a tying goal from Charlie McAvoy near the end of the second period, which was massive for the Bruins and the fans at the Garden. Then came the game winner from Sean Kuraly, completing the Bruins epic comeback. Marchand also scored an empty netter in the final minutes of the third, securing the win for the Bruins.

The moment that had everyone talking though was the absolutely monstrous hit by Torey Krug on Robert Thomas that has had fans going crazy since it was delivered in the third.

The Bruins hope to remain victorious on home ice tonight at 8 P.M EST at TD Garden. Tune in to our instagram @primetimesportstalk for a live story take over.
