Decade of Dominance: Sharks 55, Massachusetts Pirates 36
The Jacksonville Sharks traveled for their third game of the season to take on the Massachusetts Pirates in Worcester, MA. They were looking for their second consecutive win following their win over the Columbus Lions two weeks ago.
They got off to a hot start as Jonathan Bane threw a touchdown to Durron Neal and ran for another giving them a 14-0 lead. Two Sean Brackett rushing touchdowns tied the game at 14.
Following a deuce to give the Pirates a 16-14 lead, Jacksonville went on a 28-0 run to give them a 42-16 lead. Bane threw four touchdowns in that stretch, two to his former Maine Mammoths teammate Devin Wilson and another to Neal, his second of the night.
Bane would thrown his sixth of the game on a five-yard strike to Wilson as time expired in the third quarter and the Pirates were not able to overcome the deficit. The Sharks won by a final score of 55-36. Jacksonville now stands over .500 after their Week 1 loss to the New York Streets.
They will host the defending champion Carolina Cobras next weekend. The Cobras eliminated the Sharks in the postseason last year en route to winning National Arena Bowl II.
