2019 Fantasy Football Week One: IDP Report

Joshua Abbe | September 7th, 2019

It’s finally week one in the NFL season and with such a complex fantasy football format, the IDP leagues are always tricky to dictate who to plug and play. Here are a couple of quick names to start going into the first week of the season.

Jonathan Allen, DL, Washington Redskins

Allen last season had eight sacks to go along with his 61 tackles for the season. He broke through in the 2018 season and looks to continue those numbers for week one. Against an Eagles team that looks to run the ball with Jordan Howard and rookie Miles Sanders, Allen should put up points when Redskins fall behind, and Philly tries to run time off the clock.

Zach Cunningham, LB, Houston Texans

Cunningham led the Texans with a team-high 107 tackles last season with 73 of those being solo. Going into Monday night against a New Orleans Saints’ offense that likes to run the ball. Cunningham should be presented with ample opportunity to start hot in the tackle stat department.

Richard Sherman, CB, San Francisco 49ers

Even at 31 years old, Sherman is still one of the top defensive back in the league. He has an intriguing matchup this Sunday versus a Bruce Arians offense that will look to throw the ball and covering Mike Evans who should see plenty of targets coming his way. Not to mention the quarterback in Jameis Winston threw 14 interceptions in 2018, opening up a chance for Sherman to get an interception.

Jerome Baker, LB, Miami Dolphins

In a sneaky play for week one, Baker takes over the lead linebacker role for the Dolphins and faces a run-heavy Ravens offense. With a strong preseason, Baker looks to continue his momentum with a great matchup that should lead to double-digit tackles.
