Week five was filled with phenomenal performances, with monster games from Deshaun Watson, Christian McCaffrey, Aaron Jones, Amari Cooper, Will Fuller, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles D/ST. Week six has a few projected shootouts, including a heavyweight bout between the two best young quarterbacks in the league. I’m sure that we’ll be in for a few surprises this week!

Mahomes is in a prime bounce-back spot in a shootout game with a 55-point total. He takes on a Texans’ defense that is allowing 270.4 passing yards per game. He’s the best choice for QB1 this week. The dark horse for QB1 is Murray, who should see some positive regression to his historically-low touchdown rate (2.0%). He takes on a Falcons’ defense that has been shredded by Jacoby Brissett, Mariota, and Watson in the last three weeks. This total opened at 47.5 but is now up to 51 points. Expect a big game for Kyler here.

McCaffrey is having a historic season right now. If you go back to last year (without counting week 17, where he did not play the full game), CMC has 2,118 yards from scrimmage and 19 touchdowns in his last 14 games. Even in a tough match-up against a Buccaneers defense allowing just 69.8 yards per game on the ground, CMC is the easy RB1. The dark horse for RB1 is Bell. Darnold is back this week, which will open up running lanes for Bell to go to work. Bell has averaged 24.5 touches per game this year, so he’s been a definite workhorse. The Jets will need to score points to keep up with the Cowboys, so Bell is a great play this week.
Julio is the likely WR1 this week in a shootout against the Cardinals. Arizona’s defense is allowing 269.2 yards per game through the air. After consecutive down weeks, Julio looks primed to pop off this week. The dark horse for WR1 is Beckham Jr., who has been a massive disappointment this season. OBJ has only 10 receptions for 103 yards on 22 targets in the last three games. He has the upside to blow up against any defense and we could see Baker force-feed him the ball to get him going. The Seahawks’ defense has allowed 270.6 passing yards per game this season.
Tight Ends | ||
Rank | Name | Opponent |
1 | Travis Kelce | vs. Texans |
2 | George Kittle | at Rams |
3 | Austin Hooper | at Cardinals |
4 | Zach Ertz | at Vikings |
5 | Will Dissly | at Browns |
6 | Mark Andrews | vs. Bengals |
7 | Greg Olsen | at Buccaneers |
8 | Vance McDonald | at Chargers |
9 | Delanie Walker | at Broncos |
10 | Evan Engram | vs. Patriots |
11 | Hunter Henry | vs. Steelers |
12 | Chris Herndon | vs. Cowboys |
13 | T.J. Hockenson | at Packers |
14 | Gerald Everett | vs. 49ers |
15 | O.J. Howard | vs. Panthers |
16 | Jason Witten | at Jets |
17 | James O’Shaughnessy | vs. Saints |
18 | Jordan Akins | at Chiefs |
19 | Jared Cook | at Jaguars |
20 | Noah Fant | vs. Titans |
21 | Vernon Davis | at Dolphins |
22 | Tyler Eifert | at Ravens |
23 | Ricky Seals-Jones | vs. Seahawks |
24 | Cameron Brate | vs. Panthers |
Kelce remains as TE1 in yet another projected shootout, this time against the Houston Texans. Kelce has not found the end-zone since week two, so he’s due for a touchdown right now. The dark horse for TE1 is Olsen, who faces a Buccaneers’ defense that has been getting shredded in the passing game. Look for Olsen to bounce back after a week five where he did not record a catch.
D/STs | ||
Rank | Team | Opponent |
1 | New England Patriots | at Giants |
2 | Baltimore Ravens | vs. Bengals |
3 | Los Angeles Chargers | vs. Steelers |
4 | Denver Broncos | vs. Titans |
5 | Tennessee Titans | at Broncos |
6 | Philadelphia Eagles | at Vikings |
7 | Minnesota Vikings | vs. Eagles |
8 | New Orleans Saints | at Jaguars |
9 | Carolina Panthers | at Buccaneers |
10 | San Francisco 49ers | at Rams |
11 | Dallas Cowboys | at Jets |
12 | Green Bay Packers | vs. Lions |
The Patriots should once again provide premium production this week, this time against a rookie quarterback in Jones. The Giants will likely be without Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, and possibly Engram for this game. Add in the fact that it’s a short week and you have the recipe for disaster. They are D/ST1 for the week. The dark horse for D/ST1 this week is the Broncos, who should get their pass-rush going against Mariota, who has already been sacked 22 times this season.
