Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has been out since Wednesday with a lacerated hand.
The details of the injury had been kept a mystery until now.

The injury occurred during the day following a miss at the buzzer in a 108-107 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
He has been sent back to Boston, and it is uncertain when the Oklahoma State product will return.
