UMass Lowell Suffers 89-62 Setback to UMBC

UMass Lowell has lost eight of its last nine games after an 89-62 loss against UMBC on Saturday.

The River Hawks really could never find a grove in this one and fell behind 16-6 at the 13:13 mark of the opening frame and trailed 42-25 at halftime.

The River Hawks’ defense wasn’t much better in the second half, as UMBC shot 62.1 percent in the final 20 minutes to secure the victory.

Jahad Thomas tuned in an all-around complete effort for UML, scoring 15 points, corralling nine rebounds and dishing out six assists.

UML is back in action Monday at 2:30 p.m. as it hosts New Hampshire (6-11, 2-1).
