UMass Losses to Georgia State, 71-63

UMass blew a six-point lead midway through the second half en route to a 71-63 loss to Georgia State on Wednesday.
A Carl Pierre trey pushed UMass up 50-44 with 8:50 remaining in the final frame, however, an 11-5 Panthers run knotted the game up at 55 with 6:06 left.
With 4:06 remaining, D’Marcus Simonds drilled a 3-pointer to give Georgia State its first lead, 58-56, since the 17:54 mark of the first quarter.
Back to back treys by Devin Mitchell would enhance the Panthers’ lead to 64-59 with 2:34 left, and they would hold on for the victory.
Pierre tossed in 14 points and Luwane Pipikins added 14 points and five assists for UMass, which suffered its first home loss of the season.
The Minutemen are back in action at home on Friday against Maine (3-10).
