Pusica Pours in 21, Northeastern Beats Kent State, 81-69by Nate Rollins December 18, 2017 0 comments
Northeastern, behind 21 points from Vasa Pusica, notched its fifth straight win with an 81-69 victory over Kent State on Saturday.
Tied at 20-20, Pusica drove to the basket, connected on a layup and drew a free throw, which he converted. His 3-point play ignited an 18-6 Northeastern run as the Huskies went ahead 38-26 with 1:31 remaining in the first half.
The Golden Flashes would battle their way back into this one, and with 13:08 left, Kevin Zabo, sliced the Huskies lead to 47-46 with a trey. But, that would be as close as they would get as a 14-4 Northeastern run put the game out of reach.
Four Huskies scored in double digits in the victory.
Northeastern looks to run its winning streak to six on Wednesday on the road against St. Bonaventure (8-2) at 7 p.m.
