Robinson Powers Boston College Past Hartford, 73-61by Nora Kent December 2, 2017 0 comments
Boston College, behind 23 points from junior guard Jerome Robinson, topped Hartford by the final score of 73-61 on Saturday.
Trailing 20-19 with 5:57 remaining in the first half, Robinson connected on a 3-pointer, igniting a 7-3 Eagles run, and BC took a 31-30 lead into the break.
With 9:21 left, and BC clinging to a two-point lead, Robinson drove to the hoop and laid it in, pushing the Eagles up four, and in the process giving him his 1,000th career point.
The Hawks would knot the game at 56 all with 5:47 to go, but BC answered with a 8-0 run – that spanned just over four minutes – to make it a 64-56 game and Hartford could not answer back.
“It’s a forty-minute game,” BC coach Jim Christian said. “Sometimes you get off to a bad start. We didn’t make shots. They made some shots. That’s basketball.”
Ky Bowman chipped in 21 points and corralled six rebounds in the win.
The Eagles will host No. 1 Duke (11-0) next Saturday at 12 p.m. as they dip into ACC play.
