Harvard Falls to No. 7 Kentucky, 79-70

Saturday had many thinking – what could have happened?

What could have happened had Bryce Aiken scored more than point points? What could have happened if any Crimson starter pumped in double-digit points? Well, none came to fruition and Harvard – paced by 25 points from Seth Towns – fell to No. 7 Kentucky by the final score of 79-70.

Although the Crimson never led in this one, they didn’t go down without a fight.

With 7:07 left Harvard found itself in a hole, a 20-point hole to be exact. The Crimson responded with a 13-3 run – capped by a Rio Haskett jumper with 1:08 to go, slicing their deficit in half and making it a 77-67 game.

Unfortunately for the Crimson, Kentucky’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s sunk both free throws on its ensuing trip down the court, putting the nail in the coffin for the Wildcats.

Harvard will play Fordham (3-4) Wednesday at 7 p.m.
