Tonight was an exciting one for Boston Bruins fans across the world as they watched their team beat the Nashville Predators (and P.K. Subban) 4-3 in an exciting game.

After a disappointing playoff exit and a summer that never seemed to end, hockey season is officially here, and the Bruins are back with a vengeance.

With injuries already making their impact on the team, it was time for the rookies to step and play well against the reigning Western Conference champion Predators. And they did just that. Rookies Charlie McAvoy (19), Jake DeBrusk (20), and Andres Bjork (21) all found their way onto the score sheet tonight. McAvoy netted a goal and an assist in his regular season debut after an impressive performance in the playoffs, and DeBrusk also scored in his first NHL game, bringing his dad to tears. Bjork added an assist in his first game.

David Pastrnak scored the first goal of the season for the B’s, coming off of a long summer of contract discussions that ended in a 6 year, $40 million deal for the up and coming Bruins star. Brad Marchand also scored and Krejci had three assists.

Adam McQuaid got fans going after an altercation with Nashville’s Cody McLeod. (I may be slightly biased in my opinion of who won so you can decide for yourself).

The Bruins have their next game Monday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. vs the Colorado Avalanche at the Garden.
