In case you missed WrestleMania 33, Rob Gronkowski is tackling again and doing it very well getting into a three-point stance and laying a “hit” on wrestler Jinder Mahal.
While concerning for fans, most Patriots followers seem more optimistic with Gronkowski saying that he was ready to get back into his “ring” very soon.
“I’m feeling great. I’m good to go,” Gronkowski said to ESPN before the WWE event Sunday. “It’s been about four months now (since back surgery). Just been back with the team a lot during the week, doing my rehab with the trainers there. I’m feeling good. I’ll be ready to roll when (the) offseason program starts. Super excited to get back on the field.”
Gronkowski missed the majority of the season including the Super Bowl victory against the Atlanta Falcons because of a back injury. The All-Pro tight end has missed time in college as well for lingering back issues.
But after watching his teammates capture a second Super Bowl title in three years from the sidelines, Gronkowski claims to have put the effort into getting back onto the field and in the process add another piece to an already deadly offense.
“Definitely,” Gronkowski said. “Just being there supporting the guys, it was unbelievable. They worked super hard. And it was just awesome to be a part of it. But definitely motivates me to get back out on the field. Just seeing how hard they worked, all the efforts they put in, being part of it just makes me want to keep grinding, keep on going and I’ve definitely hit the rehab hard.”
After being in rehab for more than half a year, Gronkowski is as motivated as ever to help out his team capture another Vince Lombardi Trophy.
“I’m going to make sure when I hit that field this year I’m super ready to go,” Gronkowski stated. “So definitely motivated me big time to get back out there, so we can get out there with the boys and do it again.”
