15 Takeaways from Week 15

Here are 15 observations from the past week of football.

  • We always knew stadium concession prices were expensive, but…

Marcus Peters shared a beer with a Ravens fan after sealing the win against the Jets. That beer cost him a whopping $14,037 in the form of a fine from the league office.

  • You’ll never guess who leads the Dolphins in rushing yards

None other than Ryan Fitzpatrick. The only question is if that’s the lack of production on the ground or the veteran’s will to win.

  • Snowball fights should be a part of every pregame warm-up

Prior to their game against the Broncos, the Chiefs players had some good, old-fashioned, childish fun.

  • Finally

After losing 14 straight games and beginning this season with the Dolphins, Kenyan Drake got a win. His 137 yards rushing and four-touchdown effort was the key.

  • Bittersweet farewell

In all likelihood, Eli Manning started his final game as a member of the Giants, and possibly as a player … period. He led his team to a win over the Dolphins as the fans chanted his name throughout. And, when he was pulled late in the game, he received a standing ovation.

  • Another Saints Monday night game, another record

Drew Brees, who it seems always either breaks a record or reaches a milestone on Monday Night Football, did it again. This time, it was Peyton Manning’s s career touchdown passing record. Oh, and he also set the NFL record for completion percentage, completing 29 of his 30 attempts.

  • A dark farewell for the black hole

The Raiders played their last home game in Oakland on Sunday. Unfortunately, they came out on the losing end against the Jaguars.

  • Something to build on in the ATL

It’s been a down season for sure, but the Falcons beat both the Saints and 49ers. Not many teams have been able to beat both.

  • The preseason Super Bowl champs are eliminated

The Browns, many people’s Super Bowl pick, lost to the Cardinals on Sunday. The real-life fantasy team on paper didn’t correlate to the field.

  • A New York team is back in the playoffs

Albeit, it’s the team from west New York, the Bills. This team has put together quite a season.

  • A wrench in Steel City

With their loss to the Bills, the Steelers’ playoff hopes took a hit. While still in the hunt, they may need other chips to fall their way.

  • The upper hand goes to…

The Texans are one step closer to winning the AFC South with their victory over the Titans.

  • Speaking of…

The Titans came up just short in their chance to sit atop the AFC South. Much like the Steelers, they need to win out and get help to make the playoffs. The division title is also still possible.

  • Maybe they do want to win the NFC East after all

The Cowboys blew out the Rams, continuing their quest for the division title.

  • And so do they, apparently

The Eagles also beat the Redskins to remain tied with the Cowboys with just two games remaining.

  • Apparently, you can be allergic to feathers

The 49ers only have three losses on the season, but they have all come against bird teams: the Ravens, Seahawks, and Falcons.
